Make cooking your kids’ curriculum

As more children were virtual learning or homeschooling during the pandemic, I pitched the idea to supply parents with recipes that they could use as curriculum to teach their children math, science and history. My role was then to conceptualize the look and feel of the photography, supply props for the photoshoot, and commission corresponding illustrations. I art directed the photoshoot via zoom coordinating with a freelance photographer and food stylist. I commissioned Kate Dehler for the illustrations with a color palette that complimented the props used in the photoshoot. I then worked with Irfan Uraizee who developed the story presentation that included functionality on the question/answer portion of two of the lessons. This piece ran as part of a 12-page print special section with five additional recipe stories and three more illustrations.
